Along with helping our students reach their goals, Pensacola State makes career fulfillment a reality.Job Description:The Technology Support Technician participates in a variety of elevated supportive functions for all College-owned computers, laptops, peripherals and software for student, faculty, and staff end-users in computing spaces, classrooms and libraries, and supports onboarding workers for network and telecommunications. This position participates in installation, upgrades, and maintenance of all end-user computer equipment (including lab and classroom instruction computers and audio-visual equipment) and software, ensuring all end-user files are properly backed up and all application software is reinstalled and functioning properly. The Technology Support Technician must possess strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to be detail-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment; excellent problem-solving skills, including researching for technical inquiries, and providing solutions; and demonstrate a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills. This position requires availability to work evening, weekend, and/or occasional holiday hours as determined by the supervisor.Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an institution that holds accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College with an associate degree, and two years’ experience supporting networked computers in a large enterprise computing environment. Progressively responsible experience in supporting computers may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
