Department of Anesthesia - Pain Psychologist Pain psychology faculty will work at the UCSF Center for Pain Medicine, which operates under the auspices of the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care, Division of Pain Medicine. Ideal candidates will possess the following characteristics: Passion for caring for patients with complex chronic pain Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment Interest in working in an educational setting with physician and non‑physician trainees as part of the care team Record of scholarship through published research and a commitment to advancing the academic field of pain psychology Interest in developing innovative clinical care models Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Intake evaluations and assessments of appropriateness for neuromodulation Individual psychotherapy and group psychotherapy for patients with pain Providing expertise and supervision in the treatment of adolescents and young adults with chronic pain The Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care faculty work as part of a team emphasizing high‑quality, patient‑centered care with a focus on evidence‑based medicine. Qualifications Doctoral degree (or equivalent) in Psychology or a related field Completion of postdoctoral training in health psychology, with a preference for an APA‑accredited clinical fellowship in pain psychology Licensed to practice in California Applicants must list current or pending credentials in their materials Salary and Benefits The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay at $121,900–$319,800 based on rank and step. Additional compensation is determined at the time of offer, and we offer eligibility under the health sciences compensation plan.
