Personal Injury Pre-Litigation Attorney

Job Overview Our client, a well-respected law firm, is seeking a motivated attorney to join their growing personal injury team. This full-time, on-site role located in Norfolk, VA focuses on intake, client engagement, and case development before litigation. Salary: $80,000-$100,000. Key Responsibilities Client Consultations & Case Evaluation Meet with potential clients to review details of personal injury matters. Evaluate records such as medical files, police reports, and witness statements. Assess liability and potential outcomes for new cases. Negotiations & Settlements Communicate with insurance representatives and opposing counsel on behalf of clients. Review offers, provide recommendations, and negotiate fair settlements. Work to secure compensation for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages. Case Preparation & Documentation Draft demand letters and settlement correspondence. Compile and maintain evidence and case files. Calculate damages and prepare accurate financial documentation. Client Relationship Management Serve as the main point of contact during the intake and pre-litigation process. Clearly explain legal steps, timelines, and expectations to clients. Keep current on personal injury case law and best practices. Develop strategies tailored to each client’s situation. Work closely with colleagues, paralegals, medical providers, and expert witnesses. Ensure all case deadlines and legal requirements are met. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in Virginia. Knowledge of personal injury law and related procedures. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to balance independent work with collaboration in a team setting.
