Overview Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5:30pm Concentra is recognized as the nation's leading occupational health care company. Concentra supports the delivery of a full range of occupational medicine, advanced primary care, urgent care, diagnostic, physical rehabilitation, preventive services, and health improvement services in their onsite locations. The Onsite Medical Director works with the Onsite Leadership Team at the assigned onsite clinic, and under the direction of the Director of Medical Operations implements the location's medical policies, procedures, and programs ensuring the delivery of efficient, responsible and accountable healthcare of the highest quality to patients, businesses, and industry in accordance with Concentra's Best In Class practice. Responsibilities Spends 100% of time in the onsite clinic providing direct patient care, leading by example, and creating an exceptional patient experience. Ensures day-to-day execution of Concentra's clinical model collaborating with members of the healthcare team to drive optimal clinical outcomes. Accountable for monitoring, understanding, and effecting key onsite clinic metrics that relate to quality outcomes: Advanced Primary Care – chronic condition management, gaps in care, preventive health and age‑appropriate screenings, vaccinations, SDOH, wellness initiatives, clinic utilization and patient satisfaction. Occupational Medicine – timely return to work measures after an injury on the job, case duration, lost time, work duty status, reduction in work‑related illnesses and improved functional capacity. Manages staff clinicians and support staff and complies with APC supervisory requirements. Creates a professional and collaborative working environment with full colleague participation that promotes teamwork, quality, exceptional outcomes, and patient and colleague safety and engagement. Works with DMO and onsite leadership to identify and implement changes to ensure continuous clinical improvement. Master's use of clinical systems to ensure efficiency, excellent supportive documentation, and follow‑through on all patient care orders. Ensures compliance with local, State, and Federal Practice Act/Rules and Regulations/WC Regulations. Drives patient and client experience metrics. Actively participates in meetings with the client where/when applicable. Attend and actively participate in monthly Clinician meetings and all other meetings as scheduled by the market leadership team. Works with DMO and onsite leadership team to manage clinical and support staffing levels and proficiencies that will optimize patient satisfaction, workflows, and efficiencies. Promotes, cultivates, and exemplifies Orange Book values for all onsite colleagues. Develops colleague success through all aspects of the talent life cycle for staff clinicians and support staff within the center. Fosters an environment of collaboration, professionalism, patient/colleague safety, quality care, continuous improvement and reward and recognition. Leads and promotes collaboration within the onsite leadership team to achieve clinical and business outcomes. Graduate of an accredited medical program with an M.D. or D.O. Board certification/Board Eligible by ABMS/AOA preferred. Meets State Licensure requirements. BLS Certified. Three to five years of experience in family medicine/internal medicine, occupational medicine, urgent care or pertinent medical specialty. Medicine knowledge – Demonstrated knowledge of techniques and information needed to diagnose and treat human illnesses/injuries. Knowledge of human behavior and performance. Administration, management and leadership skills. Customer service and engagement skills. Critical thinking and judgment skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, employers, supervisors, peers, or customers. Fosters a cooperative and harmonious working climate conducive to maximizing employee engagement, morale and productivity. Ability to put patients first and enjoys treating patients. Superior patient/customer service and bedside manner skills. Team player in a multidisciplinary environment. Demonstrates a value of all contributions to product and outcome. Willingness to learn, continuously improve, to be audited, observed, and reviewed. Working knowledge of medical office administration and procedures. Basic computer skills, including email. Experience with electronic medical record application. Familiarity with corporate human resource policy and practice.
