Field Service Engineer

High Voltage Field Service EngineerAs a High Voltage Field Service Engineer, you will support the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of high voltage equipment up to 800kV. Working alongside experienced service professionals, you will perform field assignments at customer sites, assist with identifying and resolving equipment issues, and support commissioning and maintenance activities. This role provides exposure to high voltage power equipment, field testing practices, and customer-facing service work. You will contribute to maintaining reliable power system infrastructure while building technical skills through hands-on experience in a dynamic field environment.Perform field service activities involving installation, maintenance, inspection, testing, and repair of high voltage equipmentSupport commissioning, maintenance, overhaul, upgrade, and retrofit projects at customer sitesTroubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment issues and assist with corrective actionsConduct testing activities and document results using established proceduresCompile and review equipment and test data to support issue resolutionCoordinate work activities with internal teams and customer representativesIdentify opportunities to improve operations and customer serviceSupport field service projects and the operation of field test equipmentResponsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.Trade education in Industrial Mechanic, Electrical trades, or a college or university degree in a technical field such as electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred; equivalent technical training and experience will also be considered1 to 3 years of experience preferred in technical field service, construction, power equipment, or related technical environmentsExperience supporting installation, maintenance, testing, or repair of electrical or mechanical equipmentMechanical and electrical aptitude with knowledge of substation equipment, high voltage equipment, or electrical testing practicesProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and test equipment softwareValid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel extensively, up to 80%You will gain hands-on experience working with high voltage equipment while developing technical skills alongside experienced service professionals.Work on innovative energy technologies supporting power system infrastructureCollaborate with experienced professionals across service and engineering teamsAccess learning and development opportunities that support technical and career growthReceive health and retirement benefits as part of a comprehensive rewards packageBenefit from paid leave programs and workplace flexibility where applicable
