This role will help bridge the gap between system design, technical architecture, business processes, support, and operations and work to define, design and implement technology projects. Day to Day Job DutiesProvide strategic leadership for planning, designing, and implementing an enterprise architecture strategy, and implementation approach.Identify system inter-dependencies and develop migration plans.Evaluate emerging technologies, prototype solutions, and evaluate processes for inclusion in the technology road map.Create and maintain architecture policies and procedures.Provide architectural oversight of projects ensuring requirements are in alignment with IT and business architecture.Collaborate with a team of architects and participate in various governance committees and review boards.Identify opportunities to reduce overall IT costs and evaluate ongoing investment in technology to promote innovation and advancement of Harvard Pilgrim's strategic goals and mission.Other duties and projects as assigned.Basic Qualifications:Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering including; application development tools, development languages (Java), integration technologies (Oracle BPEL, Oracle SOA Suite, Tibco BW), architecture methodologies, frameworks, service oriented architecture (SOA), and design patterns. Minimum 3+ years of experience conceptualizing and architecting business solutionsNice to Have:Healthcare payer domain knowledge.Oracle Exalogic, Weblogic and Integration with Salesforce experience a plus.IT Governance and operations knowledge.Strong collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills.Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand.Project and program management planning and organizational skills.Customer service orientation.Time management and prioritizationMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree (engineering, science, or technology)8-10 years of progressively responsible leadership in IT. Experience working in health industry strongly desired.The ability to be a strategic, big picture thinker while possessing the analytical skills and understanding of operational details is essential.
