Purpose & Need

Patel, Greene and Associates (PGA) is seeking a CEI Project Administrator. This position is available in our Sarasota or Tampa offices. This individual is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and management of Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) teams on FDOT and other client projects, under the direction of the Senior Project Engineer (SPE). This role oversees contractor construction activities to ensure work is performed in reasonable conformance with contract plans, specifications, and applicable standards. Expectations demand regular coordination with clients, contractors, and internal staff, including leading meetings, mentoring junior personnel, and supporting or serving in the SPE role as needed. What You'll Do

• Responsible for the day-to day supervision and management of a CEI team on FDOT and other client projects under the direction of the Senior Project Engineer (SPE)
• Monitor contractor's on-site construction activities and materials entering a work site to determine that projects are constructed in reasonable conformance with the client's construction contract.
• Perform construction administration duties to document contractor's daily operations per FDOT's Construction Project Administration Manual, other industry standards, and the SPE.
• Exercise initiative and independent judgment in the solution of staffing and making technical decisions related to construction related work problems.
• Keep current with FDOT's processes and controls as well as developing internal processes and controls to effectively manage projects, and office/field staff.
• Prepare and process construction contract changes as Field Work Orders and Supplemental Agreements in coordination with the CEI management team.
• Promote effective communication with contractors, ensuring accurate information exchange, timely submittals, documentation of project activities, progress meeting minutes, and action items from pre-construction support services through construction and final acceptance.
• Plan, schedule, coordinate, and communicate with contractors to ensure compliance with the contract, FDOT procedures/directives, and construction project reporting and documentation processes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of FDOT Procedures, including CPAM, and related construction and financial management systems such as PrC, MAC, EDMS, PSSP, UAM, etc.
• Must have effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to assist SPE to market and pursue projects with new and existing clients.
• Attend and chair meetings with clients and contractors.

What You'll Need

• Civil Engineering degree plus 2 years of engineering experience in construction of major roads and/or bridge structures
• CTQP Final Estimates Level I and II
• FDOT Advanced MOT
• Attend CTQP Quality Control Manager course and pass the examination.
• Complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course, and submit the mandatory Certification of Course Completion form (for structures projects).
• Other certifications as required by client contracts.

• Public speaking skills, and the ability to be comfortable and confident when engaging in public speaking, is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and a keen attention to details
• Be familiar with computer programs necessary to perform those duties.
• Ability to deal with constant interruptions while working in a fast-paced environment and maintaining high standards in all work efforts.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
