Diabetes Educator

Role Overview The Diabetes Educator provides personalized education to clients with diabetes across all ages, assessing their needs and developing tailored education plans that address psychosocial, economic, and language barriers. This role involves conducting health and education assessments, implementing, and evaluating education strategies in both classroom and individual outpatient settings, collaborating with RNs and RDs. The position requires ongoing professional development and community outreach participation. Qualifications & Skills Oregon Dietitian License and CDR Registered Dietitian certification at hire. Minimum three years of recent experience in diabetes treatment and education. Knowledge of adult learning theories and clinical diabetes management. Preferred: Credentials in adult learning principles, certification in Diabetes Education (CDE), experience with diverse populations.
