Surgical Technician

The Surgical Technician is responsible for preparing the operating room by setting up the sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions. During surgical procedures, the Surgical Technician assists the surgeon by passing instruments, fluids, and supplies, managing the sterile field, and handling specimens. The role requires maintaining a clean and sterile environment and supporting the surgical team to ensure efficient and safe operations. Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room for surgery, including setting up the sterile field and surgical equipment.
• Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.
• Maintain a clean and sterile surgical environment throughout the procedure.
• Perform initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator.
• Keep records of Steam Sterilizer use and monitor expiration dates on suture carts.
• Turn over rooms between cases to ensure readiness for the next surgery.
• Assist team members with gowning and gloving.
• Assist with patient positioning pre-operatively and transport patients from cart to bed and back.
• Stock adequate surgical supplies and equipment.
• Perform other duties as requested to support surgical operations.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred.
• At least 1 year of related work experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.

• Experience working in surgical or operating room settings.
• Knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation.

• Must maintain strict sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment requiring focus and precision.

• Full-time position, Monday through Friday schedule.
