Schedule:

12-hour day and night shifts 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Weekday, weekend, and night coverage available No call required On-site clinical coverage ClinicalEnvironment

Average daily census of 55-60 patients Approximately 2 patients per hour, with occasional higher-volume surges of 8 or more patients in an hour Diverse patient population with a mix of medical emergencies and traumatic injuries Collaborative Emergency Department with experienced nursing and clinical support staff Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a wide variety of emergency medical conditions Perform standard Emergency Department procedures, including: Endotracheal intubation Procedural sedation Fracture reduction and splinting Chest tube placement Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Laceration repair Incision and drainage (I&D) Central venous line placement Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic evaluations Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and coordinate specialty care when necessary Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record CommonCases Physicianswill primarily manage:

Chest pain Abdominal pain Shortness of breath Falls Motor vehicle collisions Sports-related injuries Other routine emergency medical and trauma presentations Severeor penetrating trauma is uncommon. Qualifications

ABEM Board Certification preferred Strong, experienced Emergency Medicine physicians with other appropriate training and significant ED experience will also be considered Active Texas medical license or ability to obtain licensure Current DEA registration ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and BLS certifications, as required
