Package Courier Job Duties
- Pick up packages from warehouses, businesses, or customers.
- Load and unload packages safely into the delivery vehicle.
- Plan efficient delivery routes using GPS or mapping software.
- Deliver packages to homes and businesses on schedule.
- Obtain customer signatures or proof of delivery when required.
- Verify package information and delivery addresses.
- Handle packages carefully to prevent damage or loss.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and logs.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding delays, traffic, or delivery issues.
- Inspect and maintain the delivery vehicle, reporting any mechanical problems.
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service.
- Collect payments for deliveries when required.
- Return undeliverable packages according to company procedures.
