The Raytheon Electronic Warfare - Electrical and Electronics Engineering department in Goleta, California has an immediate opening for a highly experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to work on Electronic Warfare (EW) electronic product development for defense applications. What You Will Do Design advanced power conversion circuits and associated analog designs for Electronic Warfare (EW) & Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) products & subsystems. Perform electrical design, perform design analysis, implement PCB design solutions, perform simulations, and perform analysis and testing of associated hardware in a laboratory setting. Participate in product planning efforts including technology definition, specification creation, workload planning, and costing calculations. Work in a fast paced and dynamic product development environment and provide technical expertise and leadership to other staff. Act, when necessary, as cross-discipline independent product team lead (IPTL) or Responsible Engineer Authority (REA) for multiple projects and power supply subsystem designs. Occasionally travel to supplier and customer sites for design reviews, integration, and testing activities. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience. Experience with power system design and analysis tools such as SPICE, SIMPLIS, schematic/layout design software, MATLAB/Simulink, Hyperlynx PI. Experience with schematic capture, block diagrams, and parts lists for complex electronics. Experience in testing electronic products using bench power supplies, signal/waveform generators, high-speed oscilloscopes, power supply stability testers, spectrum analyzers, and debugging tools. Qualifications We Prefer Experience designing airborne electronic products with attendant size, weight, power, and cost requirements. Electrical design and analysis with Mentor Graphics XPedition and HyperLynx. Experience with design of high voltage and high current power conversion circuit assemblies including specification and selection of PCB materials, high voltage/high current transformers, inductors, and FETs, as well as implementing ADCs, DACs, and supporting analog circuits. Experience with various switched-mode power supply topologies and modeling. Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) components or specifications and creating POL supplies for RF circuitry. The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
