Contract Buy Out Program: This position may be eligible for the Physician / Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years). Core Responsibilities

• Clinical Care: Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat (surgically or medically), and consult for illnesses and injuries of the reproductive and genitourinary systems, including their contiguous structures
• Surgical Duties: Perform urological surgeries, including robotic, laparoscopic, open, and endoscopic procedures, as well as inpatient and outpatient surgical care
• Patient Management: Conduct history and physicals, preoperative evaluations, operative and postoperative notes, progress notes, discharge planning, and follow-up
• Coordination: Serve as the in-house administrative leader for the Urology Surgery service, coordinating with attending physicians, nursing, clerical staff, and other specialties to maintain a clinic-like environment conducive to quality care
• Education: Supervise and coordinate with residents and fellows, ensuring adherence to ACGME education guidelines.
• Decision-Making: Manage complex, multi-symptomatic patients with severe comorbidities, mental health issues, and chronic pain, making sound clinical decisions
• Treat a broad range of urological pathologies with both conservative and surgical options.
• Provide consultation services to other departments.
• Maintain licensure and credentials to practice urology, including all diagnostic and therapeutic modalities
