Master Diesel MechanicEnvironmental Protection Services (EPS)Location: Sparks, NVSalary: $40–$60 per hour, commensurate with experienceBuild the Shop. Lead the Fleet. Keep Operations Moving.Environmental Protection Services (EPS) is seeking an experienced Master Diesel Mechanic to lead our maintenance operations and keep our fleet running safely, efficiently, and reliably.This is more than a mechanic position. We're looking for a hands-on leader who can manage the shop, schedule repairs, oversee preventative maintenance, and build a culture of accountability.The ideal candidate has extensive experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, street sweepers, heavy equipment, trailers, and light-duty fleet vehicles.About EPSEPS is a leading provider of street sweeping.EPS provides erosion-control services.EPS provides SWPPP installation and inspection services.EPS provides hydroseeding services.EPS provides excavation support.EPS provides stormwater compliance services.Our fleet includes street sweepers, water trucks, dump trucks, pickups, trailers, skid steers, forklifts, generators, and various types of construction equipment.Primary ResponsibilitiesManage all day-to-day shop operations.Schedule and prioritize fleet maintenance and repairs.Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and heavy equipment.Maintain and repair street sweepers, water trucks, dump trucks, trailers, pickups, and support equipment.Develop and manage a preventative maintenance program for the entire fleet.Coordinate outside vendors, warranty repairs, and specialty services when necessary.Maintain accurate repair records, service schedules, and maintenance documentation.Order parts and manage shop inventory while controlling costs.Ensure equipment is inspected, repaired, and returned to service promptly.Work closely with Operations to minimize equipment downtime.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.Assist with roadside repairs and emergency service calls when necessary.Mentor and train additional mechanics as the department grows.QualificationsAt least seven years of diesel mechanic experience is required.Previous experience managing or leading a maintenance shop is preferred.Extensive experience with diesel engines is required.Extensive experience with hydraulic systems is required.Extensive experience with electrical diagnostics is required.Extensive experience with air brake systems is required.Extensive experience with PTO systems is required.Extensive experience with heavy equipment is required.Experience with street sweepers, including Schwarze, Elgin, Tymco, or similar equipment, is preferred.Experience with water trucks and construction equipment is required.Experience with Ford, Chevrolet, and Dodge fleet pickups is required.The ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics is required.Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.A valid driver's license is required.A CDL Class A or B is preferred, or the candidate must be willing to obtain one.What We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who takes ownership of the shop and fleet.The ideal candidate leads by example.The ideal candidate is organized and proactive.The ideal candidate can prioritize multiple repairs without sacrificing quality.The ideal candidate communicates effectively with field personnel and management.The ideal candidate makes sound decisions that keep equipment safe and productive.The ideal candidate has a strong sense of urgency while maintaining high workmanship standards.Why Join EPS?EPS offers competitive compensation based on experience.Medical benefits are available to eligible employees.EPS offers paid holidays and paid time off.You will support an expanding fleet.You will have the opportunity to build and lead the maintenance department.You will work with a supportive leadership team committed to investing in equipment and people.EPS offers long-term career growth with a growing company.Compensation$40–$60 per hour, commensurate with experience. Final hourly compensation will be based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, certifications, and leadership background.Apply TodayIf you're a highly skilled diesel mechanic who wants to lead a shop, build systems, and play a key role in the success of a growing construction company, we'd love to hear from you.
