Project Engineer / Estimating Coordinator

Overview Vector Paving is seeking a motivated and organized Project Engineer / Estimating Coordinator to support our asphalt paving operations throughout Florida. This position will work directly with company leadership and assist with estimating, bid and quote preparation, project startup, vendor coordination, logistics, project tracking, and operational support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, a self-starter, and interested in building a long-term career in heavy civil construction. This position offers direct exposure to estimating, project management, and operations, with opportunities for long-term career growth within a rapidly growing asphalt paving company. Responsibilities Support estimating and bid preparation for public and private projects Coordinate vendor, subcontractor, and material pricing Assist with project startup, budgeting, and job setup Track project backlog, production data, and operational reporting Coordinate trucking, logistics, and project documentation Support operations and project management personnel as needed Qualifications Construction industry experience required; asphalt paving experience preferred Strong organizational and communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Experience with HCSS, HeavyBid, HeavyJob, FDOT projects, or civil construction is a plus Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work extended hours, including overtime when required Construction job sites with exposure to moving equipment, dust, noise, and hot asphalt materials Frequent travel between project locations may be required Overtime and weekend work may be necessary during peak seasons Benefits 401(k) + matching (retirement plan) Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule 10-hour shift 8-hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Weekends as needed It is the policy of this Company to assure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment, without regard to their race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, color, national origin, age or disability.
