Diesel Shop Supervisor - Direct Hire - $36-$40/hr
Tarentum, Pennsylvania
A client of ours is hiring a Working Shop Supervisor to lead and support a team of diesel technicians. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll supervise shop and field service operations while continuing to perform mechanical repairs on service vehicles, tractor trailers, and machinery.
Pay and Schedule
- $36-$40 per hour based on experience
- Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- 50-60 hours per week available
- Overtime available
What You Will Do
- Supervise and coordinate daily shop activities and technicians
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, tractor trailers, service vehicles, and machinery
- Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs while leading the team
- Manage field service needs and coordinate road-service vendors
- Communicate with drivers regarding breakdowns, repairs, and service needs
- Ensure maintenance and repairs are completed safely and efficiently
- Maintain service, parts, and labor records
- Manage parts inventory and order supplies as needed
- Communicate shop priorities, needs, and performance to management
What You Bring
- 10+ years of diesel/heavy-duty mechanical experience
- Previous experience as a Shop Supervisor, Shop Foreman, Lead Mechanic, or Lead Technician
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Valid CDL
- Pennsylvania Class 7 State Inspection License
- Experience working on service vehicles, tractor trailers, and/or machinery
Nice to Have
- Fleet maintenance experience
- Heavy-duty mechanic certification or trade certification
