Full-Time BaristaPosition Summary

Asali is seeking a passionate, energetic, and customer-focused Barista to join our team full-time. This role is responsible for crafting exceptional coffee and espresso beverages, delivering outstanding hospitality, maintaining a clean and organized café, and creating memorable guest experiences. The ideal candidate has a passion for specialty coffee, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in consistency, quality, and teamwork.

Essential Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Welcome every guest with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
• Recommend beverages, pastries, desserts, and retail products based on guest preferences.
• Answer customer questions regarding ingredients, allergens, and menu offerings.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and positively.

Coffee Bar Operations

• Dial in espresso and monitor extraction quality throughout the day.
• Maintain cleanliness of espresso machines, grinders, steam wands, brewing equipment, and workstations.
• Refill syrups, cups, milk, coffee beans, and other supplies throughout the shift.
• Perform daily cleaning, opening, and closing procedures.
• Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to management.

Beverage Preparation

• Prepare espresso-based beverages, brewed coffee, tea, matcha, specialty drinks, and seasonal menu items according to company recipes and quality standards.
• Steam milk to proper temperatures and textures for lattes, cappuccinos, and other espresso beverages.
• Maintain beverage consistency, presentation, and speed during peak service periods.
• Learn and prepare Asali's signature specialty drinks and seasonal offerings.
• Monitor beverage quality and remake drinks when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.

Team Support

• Assist bakery sales associates during busy periods.
• Package pastries and desserts for customers.
• Restock bakery displays and retail merchandise.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and café equipment.
• Assist with general cleaning, stocking, and other duties as needed.

Food Safety & Sanitation

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Properly store milk, syrups, ingredients, and other food products.
• Follow allergen awareness and cross-contamination procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Previous barista or café experience preferred.
• Passion for coffee, hospitality, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining quality and efficiency.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Ability to learn quickly and follow beverage recipes consistently.
• Comfortable operating espresso machines, grinders, and POS systems (training provided if needed).
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced café environment.

Work Schedule

• Full-Time Position
• Approximately 35–40 hours per week
• Availability for mornings, afternoons, weekends, and occasional holidays as business needs require.
• Flexibility during busy seasons and special events.
