Responsibilities

- Inspect complex mechanical parts, subassemblies, and assemblies using blueprints, process sheets, and engineering change orders.
- Operate precision measurement tools, including dial indicators, optical comparators, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Perform advanced calculations for angles, tolerances, and dimensions to ensure compliance with exacting standards.
- Identify defects, calculate defect rates, and verify rework or repairs meet quality requirements.
- Develop alternative inspection setups where standard procedures are insufficient.
- Apply inspection stamp to approve parts, subassemblies, and assemblies prior to customer acceptance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and participate in continuous process improvements.
- Conduct quality audits and field return evaluations as needed.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior inspectors.
- Perform additional duties to support department objectives.

Required Skills and Experience

- High School diploma or Trade School education.
- At least four years of mechanical inspection or relevant machining experience.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and drawings, with strong trigonometry and geometry skills.
- Skilled in using precision measurement tools and instrumentation.
- Meets company and customer certification standards.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in quality audits and process improvement.
- Familiarity with field return evaluations and advanced troubleshooting.
- Background in mentoring or training inspection staff.
