What You Will Be Doing

• Assess patient respiratory status through observation, physical assessment, review of clinical data, and response to therapy
• Administer prescribed respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, humidity therapy, and airway clearance treatments
• Initiate, monitor, and adjust respiratory support equipment including ventilators, non-invasive ventilation devices, and other cardiopulmonary support equipment per physician orders and departmental protocols
• Perform and assist with diagnostic procedures such as pulse oximetry, arterial blood gas collection and analysis, and pulmonary function-related testing
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and communicate significant findings and changes in condition to physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team
• Respond to emergency situations including rapid response, code blue, airway management, and patient transport activities
• Maintain artificial airways and provide tracheostomy and ventilator care in accordance with hospital policy and accepted standards of practice
• Educate patients and families regarding respiratory conditions, treatment plans, breathing techniques, and equipment use
• Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, response to care, and equipment checks in the medical record in a timely manner
• Follow established infection prevention practices, departmental procedures, and hospital policies in daily practice
• Maintain confidentiality and protect patient information in full compliance with HIPAA
• Support a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and service excellence

Required Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license accepted by the Texas Medical Board
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, ventilator management, oxygen delivery systems, and emergency respiratory care

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Associate's degree or higher in respiratory care — Bachelor's preferred
• Acute care hospital experience in adult critical care, emergency services, NICU, or specialty respiratory settings
• ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certification
• Bilingual or multilingual communication skills

Compensation & Schedule

• $30.00 – $36.00 per hour — Paid Bi-Weekly
• Full-Time | Shift-based including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
