Role Description The Direct Support Professional is a full-time, on-site role based in Bakersfield, CA, providing daily support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential and community settings. This role includes assisting with personal care, daily living activities, meal preparation, and housekeeping tasks to ensure a safe and comfortable environment. The Direct Support Professional supports individuals in community participation, transportation to appointments or activities, and skill-building to increase independence. Responsibilities also include accurately documenting services, following individual care plans, monitoring health and behavior changes, and promptly reporting concerns to supervisors. The role requires collaborating with team members, participating in training, and consistently promoting respect, choice, and inclusion for the individuals served. Qualifications Experience or education in Human Services, social services, or a related field that supports direct care and person-centered support. Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities, including active listening, clear documentation, and respectful interaction with individuals, families, and team members. Knowledge of supporting individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, including understanding behavior support strategies and individualized care plans. Willingness to participate in ongoing Training related to safety, crisis prevention, first aid/CPR, and agency policies and procedures. Ability to assist with personal care and mobility, and to support individuals in community and home environments. High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or residential services is preferred. Reliable transportation, the ability to work assigned shifts (including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed), and successful completion of background and reference checks. #J-18808-Ljbffr
