Limited Permit Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Job Overview
Fairview is seeking a caring, dependable, and motivated Limited Permit Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our skilled nursing and rehabilitation team. This position is ideal for nursing graduates who have completed an approved practical nursing program and are currently practicing under a valid New York State Limited Permit while awaiting licensure.
The Limited Permit LPN will work alongside Registered Nurses, physicians, therapists, and clinical staff to provide compassionate, high-quality care to residents in a fast-paced rehabilitation and long-term care setting.
Responsibilities
Provide direct resident care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or nursing leadership
Monitor residents’ conditions and promptly report changes in status
Administer medications and treatments according to facility policies and New York State regulations
Assist residents with daily nursing care needs and promote comfort and safety
Accurately document nursing care, treatments, vitals, and observations in the electronic medical record system
Collaborate with physical, occupational, and speech therapy teams to support resident rehabilitation goals
Participate in admissions, transfers, and discharge processes
Maintain infection control and safety standards throughout the facility
Communicate professionally with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
Support a positive, respectful, and compassionate environment for residents and staff
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program
Active New York State Limited Permit for Licensed Practical Nursing required
Strong communication and organizational skills
Compassionate, dependable, and eager to learn
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Previous healthcare or clinical experience preferred but not required
