Nursing House Supervisor

Job Title Registered Nurse – House Supervisor Responsibilities Provides leadership for all nursing units and clinical support areas during assigned shift. Monitors and evaluates performance of agency and temporary staff, especially nursing staff. Supervises and coordinates activities of nursing personnel in multiple patient care units. Plans work of assigned units and coordinates activities with other patient care units and related departments. Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performances, and makes recommendations for improvements. Acts as a clinical resource for staff and patients in the department. Assists in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the operations and patient care of designated areas. Directs and supervises nursing service and activities during evening, night, and weekend hours. Remains the on‑site administrative authority in the absence of Administration, with provision for access to the Hospital Administrator on Call. Ensures that quality nursing care is rendered in accordance with the Michigan Nurse Practice Act, hospital and nursing departmental standards, and applicable laws. Additional Duties Noted Across Listings Assists individuals with daily activities such as personal care, meal preparation, transportation, housekeeping, and laundry, fostering independence.
