Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Medical Surgical unit, promoting health, recovery, and patient safety through expert clinical skills and compassionate support.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, including titrating drips based on protocols.
• Monitor and operate RT equipment such as BIPAP, ensuring proper function.
• Collaborate with charge nurses and PCTs to coordinate patient care.
• Observe remotely via telemetry for any abnormal cardiac activity.
• Document patient progress and communicate updates to the healthcare team.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active and unexpired RN license.
• Obtain and maintain current BLS and NIHSS certifications.
• Possess knowledge of common diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, cellulitis, chole, appendicitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with a ratio of 1:6/7, up to 1:7.
• Comfortable working with nurse aides, PCTs, and participating in unit-specific protocols.
• Flexible to float as needed, with experience in adult medical-surgical care preferred.
