Senior Producer, MS NOW Weekends 10AM

Job Description MS NOW is looking for an experienced Senior Producer for the new weekend show airing 10AM – 1PM on Saturday and Sunday with host Jacob Soboroff. Responsibilities: Assist the Executive Producer in the supervision of the editorial vision of each day, including suggesting stories and guests for the show Fill in for the Executive Producer when needed Supervise and copy edit segment producers’ scripts Directly manage members of the show staff Coach and mentor team members on and outside the team Write and produce segments on occasion Manage the live show from the control room during regular programming and breaking news Drive the show planning processLead production of content for digital platforms, social media & MS NOW’s DTC products Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or relevant working experience 6 years of editorial experience in a fast-paced newsroom environment, ability to anticipate and respond quickly to change Control room and breaking news experienceAbility to multi-task on a tight deadline Desired Qualifications: Possess ability to develop story ideas, research and plan segments Sound journalistic judgment Knowledge of current events, politics and American history Experience with field tape production -- including scripting, shooting, and producing taped pieces Passion to reveal underreported stories, new angles and diverse voices Additional Job Requirements: Must be willing to work in New York, NY Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States Must be willing to work weekends Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
