Phlebotomist Lead

Position Highlights Phlebotomist Lead – Swedish Hospital (Full Time) Hours: Monday‑Friday 5:00am‑1:30pm, rotating weekend and holidays. Hourly Pay Range: $20.69–$30.00 per hour (based on expertise and experience). What you will do Assigns and monitors work to ensure laboratory customer service requests are met accurately and timely. Applies skills and experience to identify problems as they arise, implements appropriate troubleshooting and follow‑through. Operates and utilizes the Data Management functions of the LIS to address needs of lab service areas and clients. Conducts all communication transactions professionally and courteously. Proficient in specimen preparation and processing procedures. Responsible for processing all reference lab testing and use of associated electronic databases. Coordinates orientation and training of phlebotomy staff and students. Supports the Quality Assurance Program related to phlebotomy service areas, reports possible infractions. Performs accurate venipunctures and capillary specimen collection for all inpatient, outpatient, and all age groups. Collects body fluid or other samples (nasal and throat swabs, stool, urine, semen, breath samples). Assists with inventory management duties as assigned. What you will need Education: High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent work experience. Certification: CPR‑BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the AHA required; PBT (ASCP) certification preferred. Experience: 2 years of Phlebotomy training experience strongly preferred. Good communication and organization skills; moderate computer skills needed; basic typing/keyboarding. Reliable transportation to travel between sites required. Leadership, organizational, and communication (verbal, written, telephone) skills; ability to lead and collaborate with personnel. Ability to process esoteric testing.
