Duties

• You will lead unit evaluation teams to observe, audit, and evaluate various military, government civilian, and contractor personnel as they operate various aerial targets.
• You will oversee the TTOPS School House at Point Mugu that is the Navy's central point for teaching formal operator courses to world-wide target operators.
• You will be responsible for training 10 to 15 instructors across the TTOPS units and the evaluators that serve as inspectors during unit evaluations.
• You will serve as the liaison between PMA-208 (aerial target program office) lead engineers and the NAVAIR Airworthiness and Cybersafe Office (ACO) on engineering investigations and engineering-related issues.
• You will research and translate operational issues into meaningful recommendation and applies independent judgement on the content of engineering change requests.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade level (GS 11/12) or pay band (DA-04) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Demonstrated experience as an operator or technical personnel within the USN Aerial Target Enterprise (or a highly comparable military/commercial tactical aviation and remote-controlled systems enterprise); 2) - Demonstrated experience interpreting, executing, and ensuring compliance with the NAVAIRINST 3710.13 series (or closely related standard operating instructions such as OPNAVINST 3710.7) in support of operational systems; 3) Demonstrating experience preparing logically structured, concise, and technically accurate written materials, such as post-flight logs, operational checklists, training materials, training slides, briefs, and audit reports; 4) Assisting technical teams in researching operational malfunctions, translating operator complaints, or organizing telemetry data to support engineering investigations or recommendations; 5) Participating in process or program reviews for compliance or audit purposes.
