Senior Planner/Urban Designer

Job Roles and Responsibilities Lead and contribute to master planning and site planning projects across various scales. Develop innovative and market-responsive design solutions in collaboration with internal teams and clients. Participate in and help lead design charrettes, translating concepts into clear planning and design strategies. Prepare high-quality graphics, presentations, reports, and planning documents. Apply urban design, placemaking, and traditional neighborhood development principles to project work. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, landscape architects, and engineers. Support project management activities, including scheduling, deliverables, and client communication. Create functional and cohesive mixed-use environments and community-focused developments. Maintain accuracy, quality, and attention to detail throughout all project phases. Qualifications and Certifications Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, or a related field. Advanced education in Urban Design preferred. Experience 8-10+ years of professional experience in master planning and urban design. Previous experience working for a design firm is required. Experience with town center planning, neighborhood planning, mixed-use master planning, and project planning. Experience working on mixed-use developments, retail environments, and traditional neighborhood design communities preferred. Experience with public planning or infrastructure planning is not desired. Technical Skills Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. Working knowledge of SketchUp and AutoCAD. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with Revit and ArcGIS is a plus. Core Competencies Strong passion for urban design, placemaking, and master planning. Excellent freehand sketching and visual communication abilities. Strong understanding of urban form, building typologies, and place-making principles. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, collaborative environments. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to travel for multi-day design charrettes as needed.
