The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes for production runs.
• Perform in-process quality inspections using various metrology tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, G-code, and engineering specifications.
• Troubleshoot machine alarms, adjust offsets, and resolve tooling issues.
• Load raw materials and unload finished parts, ensuring proper material handling.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience operating CNC Swiss-style lathes.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, comparators).
• Experience with G-code and M-code programming for offsets and minor program adjustments.
• Strong understanding of tooling selection and insert grades for various materials.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common machining issues.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., PartMaker, Esprit) for programming and simulation.
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in measurement and inspection.
• Proven ability to perform preventative maintenance on CNC machinery beyond basic tasks.
• Familiarity with a variety of precision measuring tools and techniques, including CMM operation.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills in diagnosing and resolving complex machining issues.
