Work Setting : Hybrid engineering and business environment with approximately 3 days onsite

Travel : Travel as needed for customer meetings, industry events, and internal business activities, including occasional international travel

Compensation : $170,000 to $250,000 base salary, plus 20% target bonus, and potential RSUs for exceptional candidates

Position Summary

An industry-leading developer of advanced optical networking technologies is seeking a Director of Product Management to lead a portfolio of high-speed optical transceiver products supporting hyperscale datacenters, AI infrastructure, and next-generation communications networks.

This is a true Product Line Management (PLM) leadership role with ownership of business performance, product strategy, customer engagement, roadmap development, revenue growth, and cross-functional execution. Unlike traditional software product management positions, this opportunity requires ownership of an established hardware product line and accountability for commercial success across the product lifecycle.

The successful candidate will serve as the business leader for cutting-edge optical transceiver technologies, working closely with engineering, sales, operations, supply chain, finance, and strategic customers to drive continued growth of products that are critical to today's AI and datacenter infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic direction and business performance of high-speed optical transceiver product lines
• Own product roadmap, revenue growth, margin performance, and long-term product strategy
• Drive customer engagement with major hyperscale and datacenter customers
• Translate customer requirements into product direction and business opportunities
• Partner with Engineering, R&D, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Finance to execute product strategies
• Support design-win activities and customer adoption of current and next-generation products
• Monitor market trends, competitive positioning, and emerging technology opportunities
• Balance customer requirements, technical capabilities, manufacturing considerations, profitability, and market timing
• Present product strategies and business updates to executive leadership and key stakeholders
• Serve as the primary business owner throughout the product lifecycle

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Extensive Product Line Management or Product Management leadership experience within optical hardware or networking technologies
• Direct experience with optical transceivers or closely related optical communications products
• Strong understanding of datacenter networking, hyperscale infrastructure, AI infrastructure, or optical communications markets
• Experience owning product business performance, including revenue, margins, product roadmap, and customer strategy
• Ability to work effectively across engineering, sales, operations, supply chain, finance, and executive leadership
• Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills
• Technical background sufficient to engage with engineering teams and customers on complex optical products

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with 800G and/or 1.6T optical transceiver technologies
• Product leadership experience supporting hyperscale customers such as Meta, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, or NVIDIA
• Prior experience in optical networking, photonics, or semiconductor industries
• Background in engineering, field applications engineering, technical sales, or R&D prior to moving into product leadership
• Experience managing products with significant revenue responsibility
• Familiarity with optical networking ecosystems, suppliers, and datacenter customer requirements
