We are actively seeking qualified candidates for the role of Part-Time Clinical Nursing Faculty to join our BSN Nursing program in Hawaii , covering locations such as Maui, Oahu, Lanai, and Kauai. Role Overview

In this position, you will mentor students in a hands-on clinical environment on Maui, linking classroom learning and simulation experiences to real-world patient care. This connection is vital to ensuring our students are not only well-equipped for their future roles as healthcare professionals but also confident in delivering high-quality care.

Scheduling Details

• The schedule is determined by course requirements and clinical specialties for each 8-week session.
• Typically, clinical instructors are assigned 3-4 consecutive 12-hour shifts over a span of 1-2 weeks per session.
• Additional dates may not be available, and clinical assignments are not guaranteed for every session.

No prior teaching experience is necessary; we encourage nurses with substantial clinical experience and a completed MSN to apply!

Key Responsibilities

• Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical instruction and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
• Take responsibility for all aspects of individual teaching assignments.
• Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering care.
• Be available to staff at clinical agencies.
• Assess and provide documented feedback to students regarding their performance based on course objectives.
• Offer remediation to students as needed.
• Stay updated on agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with support from agency personnel.
• Create and post written clinical assignments that align with students' knowledge, skills, and individual learning needs.
• Grade and return assignments, quizzes, tests, and other written work promptly.
• Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and the College.
• May teach didactic course content under the supervision of the course coordinator.
• Keep the course coordinator informed of any student or agency issues.
• Collaborate with college administration, staff, and faculty to enhance overall operations and student satisfaction.
• Participate in the College Assessment Program, campus retention initiatives, and departmental policies.
• Serve as a professional role model in customer service, collaboration, communication, and general professionalism.
• Utilize relationship skills for group problem-solving and consensus-building.
• Adhere to all relevant regulatory rules and standards.
• Report to the dean or assistant dean, with direct oversight from a course coordinator.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
• An unencumbered professional RN nursing license in Hawaii.
• An Illinois RN License is required to teach all courses (priority given to professors currently licensed in Illinois).
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
• A minimum of two years of professional experience as a registered nurse within the last five years in the relevant instructional area.

Additional Information

In accordance with pay transparency laws, the expected compensation for this position ranges from $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment. Our hiring team is available to address any questions you may have, and we look forward to discussing your salary expectations.
