Temporary Grants Manager

Grants Manager (Ongoing Temp) – NYC | Mostly Remote
A mission-driven nonprofit organization in New York City is seeking a Grants Manager to support a portfolio of city and state-funded programs. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with a strong focus on grant compliance, financial oversight, and cross-functional partnership with finance and program teams.
The role is primarily remote with approximately 6 onsite days per month near Penn Station.
Details:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (35 hours/week)
- Pay: $40–$50/hour
- Start: Post background check + 2-week onboarding
- Interview process: One video interview + Excel assessment
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage NYC/NYS grant portfolios including budgets, billing/claims, and renewals
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual funder reports via portals (e.g., HHS Accelerator, Grants Gateway)
- Monitor contract budgets, program performance, cash flow, and accounts receivable
- Maintain grant-related P&L and balance sheet accounts
- Support audits and ensure compliance with funder and OMB requirements
- Perform variance analysis and provide financial reporting commentary
- Maintain accurate grant records and funding databases
- Support ERP system use, testing, and implementation initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of grants management experience with NYC/NYS or federal funding
- Strong audit and compliance experience
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, modeling, reporting)
- Experience with ERP systems
