Licensed Veterinary Technician - ICU

BluePearl Pet Hospital - Brooklyn Licensed Veterinary Technicians are sought to join our fast-paced ICU + Critical Care team. You’ll work alongside top veterinary professionals, handling diverse, life-saving cases that enhance your skills and impact pets’ lives. This position offers up to a $7k sign‑on bonus! Schedule Sun - Tues + EO Wed, 7am - 7pm. Pay Rate $30.00 - $51.00 / hour + competitive shift differentials. This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience. We offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4‑hour minimum. For example: Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = +$4.50/hr . Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = +$4.50/hr . Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = +$8.00/hr . As an ICU Technician, you will: Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment. Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure. Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients. Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR. Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration. Be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters. Full‑time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro‑rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
