Intermittent Hospitalist Position

The VA Sioux Falls HCS is recruiting (1) intermittent Hospitalist. The Hospitalist reports directly to the Chief Hospitalist and provides consultation services and follow up of medical sub-specialty patients, in the inpatient setting, at the VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. This is an open continuous announcement until May 28, 2026. Qualified applicants will be considered and referred every 2 weeks until filled.

The staff Hospitalist will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

• Admission, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment, including consultation, of patients presenting with general medical complaints, diseases, and injuries.
• Core privileges include the ability to perform a history and physical exam, form a differential diagnosis, order and interpret labs and other diagnostic tests such as plain films and EKGs, develop and implement treatment plans, order subspecialty consultations and provide appropriate follow-up care.
• Core privileges also include triage of patients with non-medicine complaints, diseases, and injuries to appropriate disciplines for diagnosis and treatment.
• Experienced and privileged in Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, Lumbar Punctures, and Stress Tests preferred.

Pay: Competitive salary
