RTB3 Hospitality is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help launch Roots Chicken Shak in Grand Prairie, Texas — and grow with us from day one. This is not a clock-in, clock-out management role.

Roots Chicken Shak is an award-winning, purpose-driven fast casual concept founded by James Beard Award Finalist Chef Tiffany Derry, known for its signature duck-fat fried chicken and commitment to community impact.

POSITION DETAILS

• Job Title: Assistant General Manager (Opening Team)
• Employment Type: Full-Time
• Location: Grand Prairie, Texas
• Brand: Roots Chicken Shak — Independently Owned and Operated by RTB3 Hospitality, LLC

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations & Shift Leadership

• Manage day-to-day restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures
• Ensure smooth communication between FOH and BOH throughout every shift
• Step into any team member role as needed to keep operations running smoothly
• Communicate operational issues and opportunities directly to ownership
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and operational standards on every shift

Guest Experience

• Ensure every guest interaction meets the Roots Chicken Shak standard — great food, great service, great impact
• Build relationships with guests and create an environment they want to return to
• Handle guest concerns professionally, confidently, and with genuine care
• Set the tone on the floor so the team knows what excellent hospitality looks like

Team Leadership

• Supervise, coach, and develop team members to uphold brand and RTB3 standards
• Lead hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members
• Coach and motivate staff during service — not just before the shift
• Protect and reinforce RTB3 and Roots Chicken Shak culture every day

Financial & Operational Support

• Assist with labor scheduling and shift management
• Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage stock rotation
• Assist with cash management, banking procedures, and POS accuracy
• Help drive sales through hospitality, upselling, and service quality
• Maintain awareness of labor costs and operational performance

Food Safety & Compliance

• Ensure strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health standards
• Hold the team to those standards consistently — not just when it's convenient

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 2+ years of restaurant supervisory experience
• Proven ability to lead a team under pressure
• Strong communication skills with both team members and guests
• Holds or is willing to obtain ServSafe certification prior to opening
