Electrical EngineerThe Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of electrical systems and equipment in a heavy manufacturing environment. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production systems, utilities, and automation equipment while supporting plant uptime and operational performance goals.Job ResponsibilitiesHandles projects of a high profile, complex nature that may involve groups inside and outside of the organizationSupport operation, maintenance, and optimization of plant electrical systems and equipmentTroubleshoot and resolve electrical and controls issues affecting production and facility systemsDesign, modify, and improve electrical systems including power distribution, motor control systems, and automation equipmentSupport and lead capital projects including equipment upgrades, installations, and commissioning activitiesDevelop and maintain electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentationWork with PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems to support automated manufacturing processesCollaborate with maintenance and operations teams to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtimeConduct root cause analysis (RCA) on electrical failures and implement corrective and preventive actionsSupport preventative and predictive maintenance programs for critical electrical assetsEnsure compliance with applicable electrical codes and safety standards, including NFPA 70 (NEC) and OSHA requirements and operate in accordance with Kymera Environmental, Health & Safety policiesAnalyze equipment performance and recommend improvements for energy efficiency and process optimizationGenerates new/updated Standard Operating Procedures and similar documents, accountable for improvements and new product activities which ensure workers safety, compliance with environmental regulations and integrate with the Company quality systems.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline2 years of experience in heavy manufacturing, industrial, or process environmentsStrong knowledge of industrial electrical systems (power distribution, motor controls, instrumentation)Experience with PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley)Familiarity with variable frequency drives (VFDs), motors, and control systemsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in industrial environmentsPreferredDirect experience within a melt or metal powder environmentProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseSkills and CompetenciesDeep technical problem-solving in high-energy systemsAbility to diagnose complex interactions between electrical, thermal, and mechanical systemsStrong sense of urgency in minimizing downtime and improving processesCross-functional collaboration with operations, maintenance, and metallurgy teamsContinuous improvement mindset focused on yield, efficiency, and equipment lifeHolds self and others accountable to meet commitmentsMakes good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forwardActively learns through experimentation when tackling new problems, using both successes and failures as learning opportunities.Physical RequirementsRequired to lift and /or move up to 10 lbs.
