Prescription Prior Authorization Specialist

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Prescription Prior Authorization Specialist will manage the submission of prior authorizations to ensure patients receive their prescriptions in a timely manner while verifying insurance coverage and maintaining accurate documentation. Key responsibilities Submit prior authorizations to insurance companies via various communication methods and address patient inquiries regarding the authorization process Verify insurance coverage and prescription formularies to ensure payment for prescriptions Maintain accurate documentation of authorizations and work closely with insurance companies, pharmacies, and providers to resolve authorization issues Required qualifications High School Diploma or GED Experience with personal computers, including word processing and electronic spreadsheets One year or more of experience in office work is preferred Knowledge of chemical dependency and its effects on individuals, families, and communities Proficiency in eClinicalWorks is a plus
