CVOR Surgical Assistant Position

The CVOR position involves providing specialized surgical assistance within a cardiac and vascular environment, supporting first assist procedures in an operating room setting. The role requires prior certification and successful completion of a demanding privileging process.

Responsibilities:

• Perform pre-operative preparation and assist during cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and adhere to sterile techniques.
• Complete necessary privileging documentation and maintain compliance with organizational standards.
• Support intraoperative protocols, including positioning, equipment setup, and maintaining a sterile field.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training modules during orientation.
• Respond to on-call rotations, including weekday calls and occasional weekend shifts.

Qualifications:

• Hold current certification as a CSFA, NBSTSA, or NCCSAS.
• Demonstrate at least 2 years of clinical CVOR experience, including cardiac, vascular, or endovascular procedures.
• Successfully complete the privileging process, including core item submissions and labs within 48 hours of contract signing.
• Possess a valid GA or Compact license at the time of submission.
• Provide two supervisory references from a manager or above, not charge level.
