About the Role:
Rainbow Child Care Center & Preschool in Roseland, NJ is looking for a warm, nurturing Infant Caregiver/Assistant Teacher to join our dedicated team! This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact during the most critical stage of a child's development. Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive, loving daily care for infants including feeding, diapering, and soothing
- Support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate developmental activities and lesson plans
- Monitor and document infant milestones, behaviors, and daily routines
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment
- Communicate openly and professionally with parents and guardians during drop-off and pick-up
- Follow all childcare health, safety, and licensing regulations and protocols
- Foster social-emotional development through responsive, relationship-based caregiving
Requirements:
- Prior experience in infant care, early childhood education, or a childcare setting preferred
- Knowledge of infant developmental milestones and best practices in early childhood
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to meet NJ childcare licensing requirements including background checks
- Patient, compassionate, and dependable with a genuine love for working with infants
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Child Development or ECE a plus
