Fire Protection Engineer

About Us CEMS Engineering Inc. is a 30 year old small business which provides multidisciplinary A/E services including Architecture, Civil, Electrical, Fire Protection, Structural and Fire Protection engineering. Position CEMS Engineering, Inc. is looking to hire a Fire Protection Engineer with experience in all aspects of fire protection engineering. The candidate should have experience on the design and layout of building fire suppression and fire alarm/mass notification systems as well as building code/life safety analyses. The individual will be responsible for completing design calculations, plans & specifications on a wide variety of complex projects for fire protection engineering systems for facilities under the direct supervision of a Sr. Fire Protection Engineer. Candidates should have a sound technical foundation and have strong communication skills. The individual should have the ability to work independently and take initiative. Job Location This position is located in our Summerville, SC office which is 20 minutes from downtown Charleston. Minimum Qualifications General understanding of NFPA codes and standards, particularly NFPA 13, NFPA 72, and NFPA 101 Building Information Modeling (BIM) Revit AutoCAD 2+ years of experience designing fire suppression and fire alarm/mass notification systems Strong communication skills Pass the Fundamentals Exam Desired experience BS degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering field Professional Engineering License Preferred (NCEES FPE Exam) Federal government and Department of Defense experience inclusive of COE and NAVFAC #J-18808-Ljbffr
