Senior FOIA Analyst/Team Lead

Role Responsibilities: Provide responses to FOIA and Privacy Act requests. Support FOIA-related data management, including data entry, workload tracking, and backlog analysis. Manage the receipt, distribution, and tracking of incoming FOIA requests. Provide written/oral responses to inquiries regarding FOIA from other public sector stakeholders. Draft correspondence in support of FOIA/Privacy Act actions into the agency-specific tool for workflow management and tracking. Review all information generated in response to FOIA requests/appeals and redact any information that is exempted under the FOIA or must be withheld in accordance with the Privacy Act. Ensure all final responses received for FOIA requests are entered into the relevant tracking system. Support program office compliance with agency FOIA policies and processes. Qualifications and Requirements: BA/BS degree preferred, minimum 5 years FOIA experience or 8 years of relevant experience required. One year of on-site supervisory experience of FOIA processing. Expertise in FOIA processing, including responding to appeals. Experience using automated tools, such as MS Office and FOIA Xpress. Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to interact independently with government clients and stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to remain current with evolving policies, guidance, standards, and trends for FOIA and the Privacy Act. Preferred Qualifications: Federal consulting experience. Process improvement experience that can help identify possible improvements in the FOIA/Privacy Act transaction process to help reduce backlogs.
