Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse located in Saint Luke's is responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals with pulmonary, neurological, and cardiovascular conditions. This role involves managing ventilated patients, interpreting dysrhythmias, and performing complex procedures such as endobronchial valves and ventilator management. The position requires a dedicated professional with strong ventilator experience and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, tertiary care environment.

Job Details

• Certifications, Education, and Experience: BLS and NIHSS certifications required; minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with strong ventilator expertise preferred. Experience in pulmonary, cardiac, neurological, or trauma settings is highly desired.
• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Position Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and care for adult patients with respiratory and neurological diagnoses including CVA and Traumatic Brain Injury.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage ventilators, chest tubes, and airway devices.
  • Administer IV therapy, manage heparin protocols, and handle complex medication administration including cardiac drips.
  • Respond to emergency situations utilizing rapid response and code teams.
  • Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Floating within scope to meet facility needs may be required.
• Other Requirements:
  • Open to first-time travelers.
  • Must be willing to work a combination of weekday and weekend shifts, including 8 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule.
  • Must be at least 75 miles from the facility to qualify as a local candidate; no local candidates within the radius rule.
  • Pending license acceptance is required prior to start.
  • No on-call required.
