About the Position

Job Title: RN - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36-48 hours per week Experience: Preferred acute care facility experience License: Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice required Certifications: - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor required - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Resuscitation Certification required Description: Centrally located within the heart of California, this facility serves the Central Valley. It is comprised of a 108-bed acute care hospital, emergency department, and provides primary and specialty care services. Tulare is situated in a geographically diverse region. There are opportunities for all-season outdoor recreation such as camping, hiking, and fishing. It is also within an hour's travel time to national parks. The beautiful landscape offers a great cost of living and close-knit communities. This role delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. The nurse supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Care is coordinated with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and professional discretion. The nurse collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation. Assessment data is analyzed to determine diagnosis and care issues. A plan is developed that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. The plan is implemented, care delivery is coordinated, and strategies are employed to promote health and safety. Progress toward attaining outcomes is evaluated. Outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation are identified. Collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare providers is essential in providing patient care. Learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members are provided. Health information is directly shared with patients and families. Participation in discharge planning is required to ensure continuity of care. Duties of healthcare team members are delegated appropriately and coordinated. Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed. Safety and well-being of associates and patients is a priority. All associates are required to receive all necessary vaccinations as a condition of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. This organization participates in E-Verify.
