WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Hope Solutions seeks a dedicated Resident Assistant to support the mission of the Tiny Village Spirit Program, which provides housing and community for individuals transitioning out of homelessness. We are looking for compassionate, service-minded individuals who are flexible, responsive, and committed to fostering dignity and stability for our residents. The ideal candidate believes in the power of community, connection, and second chances. The Resident Assistant plays a vital role inTiny Village's daily operations and community wellness, offering on-site support, conflict resolution, safety monitoring, and encouragingpositive resident engagement. This position collaborates closely with an interdisciplinary team to uphold community agreements and ensure a respectful, inclusive, and supportive living environment. The Resident Assistant will alsoassistwithmaintainingthe cleanliness and safety of the grounds,facilitateaccess to basic resources, and help build a strong village culture grounded in trust and mutual respect. Please note: The Resident Assistant will be expected to live on-site, and rent will be included in the overall compensation package. Ongoing housing will be tied to employment. Supervisory Responsibility: None WHAT WILL YOU DO: Safety & Community Well-Being:Ensure the overall safety and security of the Tiny Village community by monitoring resident activity, protecting personal belongings, andmaintainingshared spaces.Uphold and reinforce village policies and emergency procedures, including conducting fire drills and responding tocrisesas needed.Helpmaintainclean, organized, and welcomingcommon areasand living spaces to support a healthy, dignified environment. Resident Engagement & Support:Provide support with daily living activities, including personal hygiene routines, meal preparation, and medication reminders, while promoting independence and self-agency.Offer emotional supportas neededand foster a culture of mutual respect, compassion, and personal growth among residents.Act as a liaison between residents, program staff, and external service providers to ensure seamless communication and coordinated care.Assistresidents in navigating and accessing vital resources, includingmedical/mental health support, job readiness programs, andincome/benefitsassistance.Organizesocial andrecreational activities for residents.Assistwiththeintake and orientation of new residents. Cultural Responsiveness:Awareness of and aptitude to understand, respect, and adapt to cultural and identity-based differences within group environments appropriately and effectively.Knowledge of and commitment to concepts and issues tied to social justice.Experience fostering and reinforcing an environment that values unique experiences, cultures, personal humility, authenticity, backgrounds, and goals.Participate in and complete our new employee onboarding process, which includes reading and discussing a short chapter in the book, The Color of Law.Review and commit to ourCultivateAccountabilityand Respect for Everyone (CARE)program. Organizational/Administrative Responsibilities:Professionally represent Hope Solutions in all circumstances.Comply withall legal/ethical professional guidelines formaintainingconsumer confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA guidelines, protecting consumer rights, advocating on consumers behalf, and assuring consumer safety.Comply withall local, state, and federal regulations and Hope Solutions policies and procedures.Completerequired administrative paperwork and reports ina timelyandaccuratemanner.Attend all required meetings, including but not limited to Hope Solutions staff meetings,team meetings, consumer case conferences, and linkage meetings with other agencies.Complete required personnel-related paperwork and complete expenditure reports for food supplies, petty cash expenses, and/or mileage ina timelyandaccuratemanner.Document all services providedin a timely manner.Assistwith data generation for reports and funding applications as needed.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.On-call, after-hours, and backup work may berequired. Work Location Classification:Site-Based: Work is primarily performed at an assigned Hope Solutions location, withan on-site presence as the standard expectation to support program operations, clients, and team collaboration. This classification applies to GPA, East County, Hacienda, Lakeside, Pomona,El Portal Place, and key roles at Taylor Office such asthe Operations Manager and their direct reports.Work from home must be approved in advance by the Program Director or Manager.Written approval (email) isrequired.All new program employees are expected to work on-site for the first 90 calendar days. Any exception requires approval from the Program Director or Manager.Client-facing work may occur on-site or in the field, depending on the role and program needs, and may include appointments, sessions, engagements, support services, client-present coordination of community resources/services, and other direct service activities.This expectation may flex to accommodate operational needs, client availability, safety concerns, or urgent program priorities while still meeting performance expectations.Whenrequesting towork from home, the employee must make the request to their direct supervisor in advance. The request must include the requested date/hours,business reasons, and a work plan for the day. For urgent same-day situations, the employee must notify leadership as early as possible and follow directionsregardingwork-from-home approval, schedule adjustment, or use of leave time.When approved to work from home, employees mustmaintainconfidentiality, work from a professional/private environment, complete assigned tasks and documentation on time, and track time accurately. PositionQualifications:A high school diploma or equivalent isrequired;additionaltraining in social services, mental health, or related fields is a plus.Experience in supportive roles such as social work, counseling, case management, or direct service with vulnerable populations.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, communicate clearly, andmaintainprofessional boundaries.Collaborative team player, comfortable working across disciplines and with community partners.Steady under pressure with sound judgment inhigh-stressorcrises.Familiarity with "Housing First" principles and trauma-informed care.Passion for serving vulnerable populations, especially individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges.Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office and client database systems.Must have a reliable vehicle, a valid California drivers license, and current auto insurance; county-wide travelrequired.Must passLiveScanbackground check and TB screening. Physical Qualifications:The person in this position may make home visits to consumers and will need to be able to climbstairs.Mayaccompanyconsumers on walks to local resources (grocery store, childcare, parks) up to mile in distance.Must be able to work in a desk setting for up to 3 hours at a time to make calls to consumers, research resources on the internet, and collaborate with community providers with calls/emails.Office setting activities arerequired, such as typing on a laptop/computer to respond to emails, entering case notes into a database, and copying/faxing forms and documents on a copy machine related tomaintainingor obtaining housing.Occasionallymust be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds, including furnishings for new residents, files, holiday gifts, and food donations.Ability to drive an automobile and transport oneself and consumers to appointments or meet at consumer homes, including driving at night.
