4x10s (on call: early call 12a-6:30a, late call 7p-12a; rotate Sunday 24 hour call)Facility: Bassett Medical CenterUnit: Inpatient Dialysis RNFacility OverviewBassett Medical Center is a regional healthcare facility serving patients across Central New York.The inpatient dialysis team supports adult patients requiring acute hemodialysis treatments in acollaborative hospital-based environment. The team is seeking experienced Dialysis RNs who areconfident working independently, communicating with providers, and managing treatments inhigher acuity settings.Position OverviewThis position is for the Inpatient Dialysis Unit at Bassett Medical Center. The unit has space forthree dialysis beds and supports adult patients only.This role is strictly focused on hemodialysis treatments. Candidates should be comfortableindependently initiating, monitoring, and terminating dialysis treatments while collaboratingclosely with providers throughout the patient's care.Patient Population & Ratios• Adult patients only• No pediatric patients• No CRRT performed onsiteStandard staffing ratios:• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio on the dialysis unit• 1:1 ratio for patients located in the Emergency Department or ICUPrimary ResponsibilitiesThe Dialysis RN will be responsible for:• Initiating dialysis treatments• Monitoring patients during treatment• Terminating dialysis treatments• Communicating with providers throughout treatment• Independently troubleshooting dialysis machines• Administering medications• Managing vascular accessesEquipment & DocumentationDialysis Equipment:• Fresenius dialysis machinesDocumentation System:• EpicWork Environment & ExpectationsCandidates should be comfortable working independently in an inpatient hospital setting andcaring for higher acuity patients when needed.The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking skills, excellent communication abilities, andprior inpatient dialysis experience. Nurses must be confident troubleshooting equipmentindependently and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams throughout patient treatment.Candidate Qualifications• Prior inpatient dialysis RN experience strongly preferred• Experience with hemodialysis required• Experience using Fresenius machines preferred• Strong communication and critical thinking skills• Comfortable working independently in acute care settings• Ability to manage dialysis accesses and administer medications during treatment• Experience documenting in Epic preferred
