Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks, Possible Extension) | Nights, 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Weekdays and Weekends | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to CVICU patients with a typical 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, adjusted based on acuity; may include step-down level overflow patients
• Manage direct fresh open-heart admissions from the OR, including post-operative cardiac surgery care
• Perform and interpret hemodynamic pressure monitoring, including Swan-Ganz catheter management
• Monitor and manage Impella devices and assist with Activated Clotting Time (ACT) procedures
• Provide Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) monitoring and management
• Document all patient care accurately using Cerner EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License in West Virginia or a Compact State (pending license accepted for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with demonstrated CVICU or cardiac surgery experience
• Hands-on experience with ACT (Activated Clotting Time) — required
• Experience with direct open-heart OR admissions, Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, and CRRT — required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications (BLS and ACLS must be AHA-issued)
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience, though not required
• Familiarity with cardiac surgery protocols and advanced hemodynamic monitoring in a high-acuity ICU setting
• Flexibility with scheduling, including blocked schedule arrangements
