Assistant General Manager

Job Description Oversee all front-of-house (FOH) operations, including dining room, bar, and host stand, ensuring smooth and efficient service. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and adherence to all health and safety regulations. Assist in the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures. Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control for FOH supplies and beverages. Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly and effectively. Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor FOH staff, including servers, bartenders, hosts, and bussers. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback with the general manager Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment. Schedule staff efficiently to optimize service and labor costs. Lead pre-shift meetings and inspire the team to deliver exceptional service Ensure every guest receives outstanding service, exceeding expectations at all times. Actively engage with guests, solicit feedback, and resolve any guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and a positive attitude. Maintain a visible presence on the floor during peak service hours. Cultivate a welcoming and memorable atmosphere for all diners. Work with the General Manager to achieve revenue goals and manage expenses. Monitor labor costs, food costs (FOH impact), and other operational expenditures. Identify opportunities for sales growth and cost efficiencies. Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes. Compliance & Administration: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including liquor laws and labor laws. Assist with administrative tasks such as payroll processing, reporting, and record-keeping. Maintain accurate employee records and ensure proper documentation. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in restaurant management, with at least 2 years in an Assistant General Manager or equivalent leadership role within a full-service dining environment. Proven track record of managing and developing a successful front-of-house team. Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including inventory management, labor scheduling, and cost control. Exceptional guest service skills with a genuine passion for hospitality. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining composure and a positive attitude. Proficiency with POS systems (Toast) and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite). Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
