Electrical Reliability Engineer Pay Rate : $101,000-$148,100 Category/Shift : Salaried Full-Time Physical Location : 601 County Rd 78, Selma, AL Position Scope This position is responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability of our manufacturing operations by eliminating production‑limiting failures from our process and increasing the life of our assets. The successful candidate will perform in a goal‑oriented environment to deliver targeted results in safety, employee engagement, and reliability excellence. Responsibilities include leading reliability efforts on a mill‑wide basis, maintaining mill‑wide equipment and systems, establishing root causes of failures, and providing ongoing improvements in reliability programs. The Job You Will Perform Develop equipment inspection programs, including routine PM, teardown inspections, and rebuilds. Manage reliability/maintenance improvement projects. Lead precision maintenance activities and support. Lead predictive maintenance and performance testing activities. Lead facilities preservation activities including NDT of tanks and pressure vessels, structural inspections, and piping inspections. Lead precision lubrication effort. Provide equipment technical support to operations and maintenance for failure analysis, repair and performance improvements. Update functional location equipment criticalities annually. Improve asset strategies and work with SAP Data Administrator to update strategies for sustainability. Lead development of integrated action plans for resolving Area Chronic Top 5, initiate assignments, set completion targets, and update the MWS team monthly. Lead and support RCFA’s for the area and follow up on action‑item completion. Support planners by developing technical content for complex work procedures. Participate in WO backlog reviews quarterly. Communicate priorities of RCFA items and asset strategy work to the MWS team weekly. Support QA/QC development and application. Assist with management of contract maintenance resources during scheduled and unscheduled emergency work. Adjust equipment asset strategies based on feedback from the MWS team. Present area data reviews to identify Top 5 preventable chronic failures and develop corrective action plans to resolve them quarterly. Review MWS metrics with the MWS team, identify off‑course metrics, develop improvement plans, and monitor progress monthly. Participate in area MWS execution metrics review with Mill Management for improvement of the MWS process monthly. Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate to groups and individuals at all levels. Engage all team members in areas, departments, and the mill. Utilize the International Paper Change Process to drive change. Work effectively alone or within a team. Utilize strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively. Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in operations, maintenance, and/or engineering in a paper manufacturing environment is required. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required; equivalent practical experience may be considered. IP ME certification of green or black belt is required; additional lean/six sigma certifications a plus. Action oriented, timely decision making, problem solving, and customer focus among other competencies.
