Must-Have: Candidate must have at least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience.

Description: Candidates must have a minimum of 1.5 years of relevant experience in a medical-surgical setting. Candidates must possess at least 1 year of experience in a facility with over 450 beds. The unit cares for a diverse patient population with various diagnoses, including chronic illnesses such as COPD, Diabetes, and CHF. Typical cases may include managing GI issues such as pancreatitis and inflammatory bowel diseases. The unit manages infections like pneumonia, cellulitis, sepsis, and complications from procedures. Patients may have neurological issues, including stroke and dementia, as well as mental health disorders. Nursing responsibilities will include conducting assessments, care planning, and inter-professional communication. Candidates will utilize electronic health records and various medical equipment, including IV pumps and wound vacs. Daily nursing care includes managing heparin and insulin drips and performing IV therapy management. Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6, with a requirement for three weekend shifts within a four-week period. Dress code consists of Caribbean Blue scrubs. Candidates may be required to float to other medical units as necessary. A comprehensive orientation program is in place to familiarize candidates with hospital policies and procedures. BLS and an IN nursing license (or compact license) are required for this role.
