Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR, SILICON ASSEMBLY (STARLINK)As a Production Supervisor, you will lead and scale high-performance teams responsible for the insourcing of custom integrated circuits and packages — from rapid prototyping through high-volume production. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, supply chain, operations, and management to solve problems quickly in a demanding, fast-paced cleanroom environment. The ideal candidate is motivated by Starlink's mission to deliver high-speed, low-latency global connectivity.RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead a team of manufacturing specialists, technicians, and equipment maintenance personnel accountable for process development, product qualification, reliability, and high-volume ramp of silicon packages and flight/consumer hardwareOwn safety performance, ensuring all team members follow safety policies and receive required environmental, health, and safety trainingDevelop and mentor team members through training, performance management, career progression, hiring, and disciplineDrive continuous improvement using Lean principles, Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and other tools to eliminate waste, reduce cycle time, lower costs, and improve throughput and qualityDevelop and execute daily production plans, prioritize work based on customer commitments, manpower, equipment capacity, and material availabilityAnalyze production data, resolve operational issues, and lead root cause analysis (5Why, 8D, A3)Take corrective actions to maintain quality and meet customer requirementsPartner with engineering and process leaders on design for manufacturability, process standardization, and variation reductionAct as the primary technical decision-maker for the team on production, efficiency, and personnel mattersBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Associate's degree and 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing/test environment OR 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing/test environment in lieu of a degree3+ years of hands-on experience with safety-critical systems, mechanical assemblies, automated equipment, and multi-axis heavy equipment3+ years of formal team leadership experiencePREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, operations management, or math discipline3+ years managing production teams in a semiconductor back-end cleanroom environment (NPI/ Assembly and Test experience strongly preferred)Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S/6S, Six Sigma (DMAIC), SPC, FMEA, and Theory of Constraints (TOC)Experience with flight-quality or high-reliability hardware in a fast-paced production settingSix Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (ASQ preferred)Experience in low-mix, high-volume manufacturing under ISO9001 or AS9100Proficient with MS Office, ERP/MRP systems; Power BI and SQL experience is a plusAbility to adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a high-growth environmentADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as neededStanding for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this positionMust be able to lift up to 25lbs. unassistedITAR REQUIREMENTS:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
