Civil Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to oversee the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of civil construction activities on major infrastructure and development projects. The successful candidate will provide strong site leadership, coordinate multiple work fronts and ensure construction progresses in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, programmes and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities include supervising subcontractors, trades and site personnel; coordinating earthworks, drainage, concrete, utilities, pavements and associated civil works; monitoring daily productivity and maintaining accurate site records. You will review method statements, inspect completed works, identify construction issues and implement practical solutions in collaboration with project managers, engineers, surveyors and quality representatives. The role will also involve coordinating plant, materials and deliveries, managing interfaces between disciplines, and supporting short- and medium-term planning to meet project milestones. A strong commitment to health, safety, environmental and quality standards is essential, including participation in toolbox meetings, risk assessments, inspections and incident investigations.

Applicants should have substantial experience supervising civil construction projects, ideally within infrastructure, commercial development, utilities, roads or related sectors. A recognised qualification in civil construction, engineering or a comparable discipline is advantageous, together with demonstrated knowledge of construction methods, relevant standards and site compliance requirements. You will need proven leadership and communication skills, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and confidence using project management, reporting or scheduling systems. The ideal candidate is organised, decisive and solutions-focused, with a hands-on approach and the ability to manage changing priorities while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety. A valid site safety qualification and relevant licences or tickets may be required.
